CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Wild defeated the Puerto Rico Islanders by a score of 3-0 to even up the record for 2nd place in the overall standings and tied for 1st in the South Caribe Division.
The South Caribe has gotten really interesting in the Empire League as all 3 teams are just 1 to 1.5 games behind with about 8-10 games left in the regular season.
The Islanders and Wild are now tied at 15-10 with the Islanders owning the Head to Head at the moment. That could change with a Wild series win. However the Road City Explorers are facing the struggling Bucks who if they sweep the Bucks, the Islanders could find themselves battling for the final playoff spot.
However it can always be turned around and Wild lose out on the opportunity to make playoffs which makes this final 8-10 games so crucial for all playoff contending teams.
It will be an interesting week for all teams to see who will continue on to the playoffs.
