NEW HAMPSHIRE THIRD TEAM TO CLINCH A PLAYOFF SPOT IN 2018 PLAYOFFS

CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Wild have officially clinched the 2018 Empire League Playoffs after a comeback victory over the Old Orchard Beach Surge.

The Wild have just 4 games remaining in the season and even if they lose all 4 games, the team will win the head to head  against the only other team that could be a threat which is the Old Orchard Beach Surge. The  Surge have 4 games remaining as well against the Aguada Explorers who have struggled big time at the end of the season. A series sweep would mean the Surge would need help from the New York Bucks  to take out the Plattsburgh RedBirds.

If the Wild can finish strong against the Puerto Rico Islanders, the team can take the 3rd seed.   During these Playoffs, the number 2 seed will take on the number 3 seed in a one game Wild Card Playoff to see who will advance to the 2018 EPBL Championship series and the number 1 seed will face off against the number 4 seed.

This will be the Wild’s  first playoff appearance in team history.

All Wild Card games will be played on August 10th at Chip Cummings Field. Followed by the Championship Series on the 11th to the 13th.

WILD LHP MITCHELL HILLERT SELECTED BY IRELAND NATIONAL TEAM

TAMPA, FL – Empire Leagues Left handed pitcher Mitchell Hillert has been selected by the Irish National Team to represent Ireland.

Hillert, is a two year Empire League player who started his career as a  rookie in the Empire Leagues 2017 season with the Puerto Rico Islanders pitching nearly 50 innings and striking out 37 batters posting a (4-3) record.

He would sign once again out of camp in 2018 with the New Hampshire Wild.  Hillert pitched 27 innings striking out 20 batters before departing to Ireland for his first selection in the World Level of competition.

Hillert joins an elite group of Empire League Players who have moved on to play at elite level of professional baseball.

STEVEN FIGUEROA MOVED TO THE QUEBEC CAPITALES OF THE CANAM LEAGUE

RINCON, PR – Steven Figueroa of the New Hampshire Wild has been punishing the baseball offensively since the start of the season and will now be putting on a different  uniform.
His work has not gone unnoticed, and today it will be rewarded as he will be sent up to play in the CanAm League for the 2017 Champions Quebec Capitales.
Figueroa will report to Yogi Berra Stadium for Batting Practice at 4pm.
We wish him the best of luck as he attempts to succeed at the next level in Pro Baseball.

WILD ACE, MATT VOGEL, WILL BE PUTTING ON A YORK REVOLUTION UNIFORM

RINCON, PR –  New Hampshire Wild Ace has been moved to the York Revolution of the Atlantic League and is on his way from Puerto Rico to York to report with the team today by 2pm.

Matthew Vogel impressed early on in the season as the Leagues strikeout leader and is now on his way to a level most guys would never get a shot to play in.

“This league is not about who is winning or who is losing, this league is about who is getting better and who is ready to go to the next level. When the call comes in from the high levels, I can personally select the player who has shown deserving of that opportunity. Character wise and on the playing field. My scouting staff and I are excited for Vogel, and we wish him the best of luck on his journey at the next level” – President Eddie Gonzalez
Vogel is set to start for the Revolution on Saturday pending a physical upon arrival today in York. The Right hander was released by the Tampa Bay Rays and was provided and leaned on the Empire League system to help him get on a different route back to the big show.
“I got to see both starts and he was everything i’d want in a pitcher. Here in the Empire League we pride ourselves in helping these young ball players advance to the next levels and this is another great opportunity for another one of our guys” – Dir of Player Development Jerry Gonzalez
The New Hampshire Wild will be returning home next week and will look to replace Vogels spot by then.

HILLERT DOMINATES EXPLORERS FOR SECOND WIN OF SEASON

RINCON, PR – The New Hampshire Wild have defeated the Explorers for the second time in a row this season.

Wild had 8 hits to the Explorers 4. Sammy Carter for the Explorers continues to hit well adding a  hit to his hits count for the second game in a row.  Steven Figueroa and Ricardo Sanjurjo both had a pair of hits for the Wild.

Cody Den Beste scored a pair of runs and has made an immediate impact on the Wilds Lineup meanwhile Ricky Rivera scored the only run for the Explorers

Mitchell Hillert, who has been added to the Irish National Team roster had a perfect game going for the Wild until an error followed by a single in the 6th inning broke up the perfect game and no-hitter. Hillert went 8 innings and struck out 4 batters while only giving up  2 hits.

The Explorers have some figuring out to do as they have not been able to do much defensively. Scott Hall went 6 innings giving up 4 earned runs and striking out 6 batters.

The Wild improve their record to (2-0) while the Explorers drop to (0-2).

DEN BESTE, MAXWELL REPORT TO CAMP, WILD LOOKING GOOD

GEORGETOWN, DE –  The New Hampshire Wild were assigned Cody Den Beste and Logan Maxwell out of the California camp earlier this year and after reporting, the team looks to be shaping up.

The New Hampshire Wild have very good infielders and outfielders at camp to add to the already new members of the Wild and look to be very good contenders in 2018.

“I scouted the Wild heavily yesterday and i really liked what i seen out of some of their infielders. Good bats, strong athletes, hard workers… i think the’re going to surprise a lot of people this season.” Vp Jerry Gonzalez

The New Hampshire Wild will be traveling to Puerto Rico to take on the Aguada Explorers in their opening series. Manager Scott Nathanson expressed how happy and excited he is to have such a group of players but will have some really tough decisions to make come friday.

SCOTT NATHANSON TO MANAGE THE WILD!

CONCORD, NH – The Empire League has announced that they will bring back former Surge Manager Scott Nathanson as the new manager of the New Hampshire Wild baseball club for the 2018 season.

Nathanson previously managed the Old Orchard Beach Surge back in 2015 and 2016. He is looking to invite players for a chance to earn 1 of the 120 available contracts that are going to be offered at camp.

“We are happy to have coach Nathanson back, He’s an amazing human being and he means well for the players in our league. We want to help players in this league and he is a perfect guy that’s been around long enough to know how to do so. That’s what this league is about and we welcome Scott back for the 2018 season.” VP of Baseball Jerry Gonzalez

If players wind up being signed by the Wild, they’ll be playing for a manager committed to their success.

The Empire League will have spring training in Delaware on June 4-8, 2018 to finalize the final 120 roster spots/contracts available. Like no other camp in the world, the EPBL is the only league that offers 120 or more contracts at their tryout camps. That’s right, 120 players are going to sign at the end of camp.

For those players interested in pursuing your dreams and would like a shot at professional baseball, remember, the EPBL only signs players that attend EPBL camps. WILD CLAIM OF CODY DEN BESTE FROM CALIFORNIA CAMP

COMMERCE, CA – Cody Den Beste has been claimed by the New Hampshire Wild at the conclusion of the California Camp. The left handed hitting outfielders out of California will join the Wild in its new home in Concord, New Hampshire.

Den Beste was among the top Outfielders in speed. He ran a 6.7 60-yard dash and showed a very accurate strong arm from the outfield.

” What’s not to love about this guy. Strong athletic appearance, plus arm, fast in the outfield, great fielding mechanics and can spread the ball around the field on command with hitting. I’m excited to see how Cody will do this year.” – VP of Baseball Jerry Gonzalez

Den Beste previously spent 15 days in the Pecos League where he was not given much of an opportunity to pay late in the season and will look to start the 2018 season on the right step.

RHP LOGAN MAXWELL ASSIGNED TO WILD IN CALI TRYOUT CAMP

PASADENA, CA – Right handed pitcher Logan Maxwell has officially signed to the Empire Professional Baseball League and has been assigned to the New Hampshire Wild.

Maxwell, who immediately nicknamed “Thor” by VP of Baseball Jerry Gonzalez, topped out at 92mph and consistently 89-90mph with a curveball, slider and changeup.

“Logan pitched very well. I think he tops out at 92mph but regardless hes got potential to be a very good pitcher with a great appearance and multiple pitches. He deserves a shot and I’d like to give him one with the New Hampshire Wild” VP of Baseball Jerry Gonzalez

Maxwell will not have to report to spring training but he will instead report to Concord, New Hampshire when the team is finalized at the Delaware Spring Training Tryout.

WILD TO PLAY ITS GAMES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

NEW HAMPSHIRE – Today the Empire League finalized a deal that will allow the Wild to return to New Hampshire where the franchise first started.

The Wild, formerly managed by VP of Baseball Jerry Gonzalez, played their first season in Rindge, New Hampshire. After being away for a season, the Wild have returned home and will play the 2018 season of the Empire Professional Baseball League in New Hampshire.

More details will be publicized as the team schedules are set.
